Nokia N97 Review
I've tried the Nokia N97, but it was just a prototype with many bugs, and I had not had the opportunity to do other than play with the hardware and the main menu. While a few days ago, although still a prototype version, I had the opportunity to do some more thorough testing, navigating with the Web browser, video player, camera, and the system of writing messages.
The hardware is very solid, and I want to emphasize that the slider on the screen is amazing. The combination of a physical keyboard and touch screen is an excellent tool for surfing the web. I used the keyboard to type physical addresses and filled out forms for logging. The touch screen to click on the link and scroll through the pages. One problem I noticed immediately was the long delay in the transition from web sites in "widescreen" to "portrait". Since the device was only a prototype, I expect something better when it is released in the market.
The Nokia N97 has a widescreen display 3.5 "which tilts forward when the phone is open. This makes it ideal if lasciatosu a flat surface while watching videos or presentations. The N97 I have played with some clips in the gallery.
The camera was well integrated with the software of the Nokia N97. And 'interesting how easy it was to change the settings capture photos using the commands through touch, such as white balance and flash, too. This was a process much faster than the classical phones (without touch screen) that you require to access the menu using the usual D-pad. I could not judge the quality of the photos because I was not allowed to use the bluetooth. I hope the final version is greater than the current even if the results are worth noting.
